Camera

This is the most basic and most used device in the field. We use these on every investigation and catch the most evidence with a simple digital camera.

Video Camera

The video is a duel threat it gives a moving picture and an audio recording, can be major piece of evidence if something is captured.

Digital Voice Recorder

This is another basic tool of a paranormal investigating.
This is used to catch EVP or Electronic Voice Phenomenon.
This is a Phenomenon that happens mostly when people are just talking.
This is voices caught on tape that were not heard during the EVP session.
Sometimes during an investigation names are called out or words are said and they are caught on a video camera's or tape recorders, this is also called an EVP.
There are a few different Categories for EVP's Categories of EVPs

Dowsing Rods

Before technology came about that would allow us to "see" into the ground, people depended on dowsing, also known divining or water witching.
To find water wells, metals, gemstones, and even missing people and unmarked graves.
Although dowsing has never been scientifically proven to work in a controlled setting, the practice remains popular in many parts of the world.
It's been suggested that humans may be able to sense electric and magnetic energy that's invisible to the eye, as many animals can.
Dowsing is used in the Paranormal Field to detect when a spirit is around.
You can even use them for asking questions of the spirit or spirits around.

Electron Magnetic Field Detector

Emf Meter

instrument that reads the fluctuation in electromagnetic fields.
This is a tool we use in the paranormal research field because the belief is that a spirt admits these EMF's and that is how we know a spirit is near.
When you investigate you should always take preliminary EMF readings at various places throughout the site.
The locations of power lines, appliances and other sources of electromagnetic fields are also noted.
Most normal readings are in the range of 9.0 - 30.0 on the EMF meter.
These are typical EMF readings in a home.
Anything that registers in the 2.0 to the 7.0 ranges and cannot be traced to a source is attributed to spirit activity.
All EMF meters have different distance ranges but they all work generally the same.
The range that the meter reads is come shaped like a flashlight beam coming from the front of the meter or the probe if the meter has one. An example of a source would be a computer monitor.
The closer you get to a natural source the higher the reading.
A natural source should always appear in the same place and will not disappear.
You should discard these readings.
When you get a short EMF reading in the 2.0 – 7.0 range which you do not get it again in the same location AND you do not find a natural EMF source then you have a positive EMF reading.
It is scientifically impossible for low level and moving electromagnetic fields to occur naturally, yet we find these fields in areas where there is spirit activity reported.
It is commonly accepted that spirits and/or the energy associated with them are the causes of these unexplainable EMF readings.

K2 Meter

This is just like an EMF meter.
But this is just a bit different because it has a series of lights along the top of it.
You can turn on a K2 meter on during an EVP session and a lot of the time a sprit can interact with you.
Making all the lights glow or decreasing the lights that are glowing.
This an wonderful way to catch paranormal activity in action.

Thermometer

These are used to take the base temperatures of a location.
The theory out in the Paranormal Community is that temperatures rise and fall when paranormal activity is happening.
These are referred to as "Cold Spots" or "Hot Spots".
By taking the base reading of a room when entering it and then when these "spots" pop up, you will be tell if something truly paranormal is going on.
It is also a help in finding air leaks in a room.

Parabolic Microphone

Used to hear noises or voices that possibly couldnt hear with the naked ear.

Ghost Touch Box

This is a new piece of equipment in the field. Its believed that spirts can touch the box and a small alarm goes off and a light to let us know.

Pendulum

The pendulum is one of the oldest tools that is used in our field. Not alot of teams use them or agree with the use of them. Some still use them but not very often.

Two way Radio

Two way Radio's used at large locations for team communications.

Lasergrid

The Laser grid pen is one of the newest products for investigating. This pen can either show a small or large green grid that can capture disturbances. We use a video camera or camera on a timer to catch evidence of this disturbance

Ghost Box

Full Spectrum Camera

A Full Spectrum Video Camera captures images from deep within the ultraviolet and infrared light spectrums. This is also another item that has recently become very useful in capturing evidence.
